Congratulations - you’re the newest coach in Suncorp Super Netball!
You’ve got $1,000,000 to build the team of your dreams and battle it out across the season for bragging rights and some awesome prizes. Grab a friend, lock in your squad, and get stuck in.

Across each round of the regular season (14 rounds, excluding finals), players score points based on their on-court stats. Your goal? Build a team that scores the most points possible.

Here’s how it all works - read carefully!

Build your team

You must select 10 players total:

  • 3 Shooters

  • 4 Midcourters

  • 3 Defenders

Each player has a starting price (see the full list here), and your squad must fit within the $1,000,000 salary cap.

Every player is listed with one or more eligible positions and can only be placed in those positions in your starting lineup - so balance is key (and no, don’t pick three exclusive GKs!). Some players appear in multiple lists (for example, WD/GD in both Midcourt and Defender), so you can choose them in whichever section best suits your team.

It doesn’t matter if a player doesn’t actually take the court in the position you’ve listed - as long as they play, you’ll receive their points.

If a player is ruled out long-term or for the season, you may replace them with another player of equal or lesser value.

You can select a maximum of two players from the same SSN club.

Once you’ve crunched the numbers, don’t forget to name your team!

To help with planning your squad, I’ve created a Squad Calculator, which will automatically populate player data and check your squad against the rules. Access it here.

Starting lineup + Captain / Vice Captain

From your 10-player squad, you’ll choose a starting 7. Your lineup must include one player in each position, and players can only be placed in positions they’re eligible for (as per the Player Prices list).

You’ll also need to rank your three reserves:

  • You score points from your first reserve every round.

  • If one of your starting 7 doesn’t play at all, your second reserve scores instead.

  • If two of your first nine players don’t play, your third reserve scores.

So yes - reserve order matters!

Next, select your Captain (double points) and Vice Captain (1.5x points). Your Captain and Vice Captain must be from different areas of the court (for example, they can’t both be defenders).

You can update your starting lineup, reserve order, Captain and Vice Captain every round if you like. These are updated using the Team Card found here.

Trade periods + changing prices

You’ll have three trade windows during the season - after Round 4, Round 7 and Round 11. In each trade period, you can make up to three trades.

Before each trade period, player prices are updated based on form and previous value. When trading, you can spend:

  • The current value of the player you’re trading out, plus

  • Any unused money from your original salary cap.

Example:
If you spent $990,000 when building your team, you’ll have $10,000 left over. If you trade out a player now valued at $50,000, you can spend up to $60,000 on their replacement.

As prices change, so will your team’s overall value. You might start at $1M, but halfway through the season your team could be worth $1.2M - a handy indicator of how well you’ve built your squad (alongside your total points, of course).

Scoring

Each round, players earn points based on official match statistics.

You score points from:

  • Your starting 7

  • Your first reserve

Captain scores are doubled, and Vice Captain scores are multiplied by 1.5.

If a starting player (or your first reserve) doesn’t play, points will roll down to your next reserve, and so on.

For a full breakdown of how points are awarded, check out this post.

Boosters

You have five Boosters to use across the season. Each Booster can only be played once, and you can only use one Booster per round.

  • AutoPilot Captains – Automatically applies Captain (2x) to your highest scorer and Vice Captain (1.5x) to your second-highest scorer.

  • Points Perk – Doubles the scores of your lowest two players (excluding negative scores).

  • Bench Boost – Doubles your bench players’ scores.

  • Perfect Game – Removes all negative points from penalties, errors and missed goals.

  • WD Weapon – Doubles your Wing Defence’s score.

Choose wisely!
