How do I join?

Entry into the Netaholics Fantasy League is exclusive to members of The Netball Collective - learn more about the membership here.

To officially join the Fantasy League, you’ll need to complete and submit the Squad Submission form (details below under Submit your squad).

This Fantasy League is run by me (Kelly) as part of my small business, Netaholics. I also create personalised netball portraits and custom coach planners. Running this league takes a fair bit of time each week (and it’s definitely not my day job!), so your support genuinely means a lot. You can check out my shop here.

Join The Netball Collective Facebook group

The Netball Collective Facebook group is a private community exclusively for members. It’s where all Fantasy League and Tipping Competition discussions happen - from player injury updates and form analysis to strategy chats and weekly ladders.

Weekly results and ladders will be shared in the group.

Not on Facebook? No worries - all key information, results and ladders will also be posted in The Netball Collective on the Netaholics website.

Join the Facebook group here, or search “The Netball Collective by Netaholics” on Facebook.

Select your squad

Now for the fun part - building your team!

You’ll select 10 players total:

  • 3 Shooters

  • 4 Midcourters

  • 3 Defenders

Each player has a starting price (see the full list here), and your squad must fit within the $1,000,000 salary cap.

Players are listed with one or more eligible positions and can only be placed in those positions in your starting lineup - so balance matters (and no picking three exclusive GKs!). Some players appear in multiple lists (for example, WD/GD in both Midcourt and Defender), so you can choose where they best fit your team.

It doesn’t matter if a player doesn’t actually take the court in the position you’ve listed - as long as they play, you’ll receive their points (if they’re in your scoring players - see below).

If a player is ruled out long-term or for the season, you may replace them with another player of equal or lesser value. Instructions will be posted when a player is officially ruled out.

You can select a maximum of two players from the same SSN club.

Once you’re happy, don’t forget to name your team!

To help with planning your squad, I’ve created a Squad Calculator, which will automatically populate player data and check your squad against the rules. Access it here.

Choose your starting 7

From your squad of 10, you’ll select a starting 7. Your lineup must include a player in every position, and players can only be placed in positions they’re eligible for (as per the Player Prices list).

You’ll also need to rank your three reserves:

  • You score points from your first reserve each round.

  • If one of your starting 7 doesn’t play, your second reserve scores instead.

  • If two of your first nine players don’t play, your third reserve scores.

Choose that reserve order wisely!

Select your Captain + Vice Captain

Choose your Captain - their points are doubled.
Your Vice Captain scores 1.5x points.

Your Captain and Vice Captain must be from different areas of the court (for example, they can’t both be defenders).

Submit your squad

To officially enter the competition, submit your squad using the Squad Submission form. This only needs to be done once at the start of the season.

Deadline: Midnight Wednesday 11 March (three days before Round 1 starts)

Submitting early is greatly appreciated, just in case there’s anything I need to follow up with you before the competition begins.

Access the Squad Submission form here.

Trade periods

You’ll have three trade windows during the season - after Round 4, Round 7 and Round 11.
In each trade period, you can make up to three trades.

Before each trade period, I’ll post detailed instructions. For a general overview, check out the Rules here.

Boosters

You have five Boosters available across the season. Each Booster can only be used once, and you can only play one Booster per round.

  • AutoPilot Captains – Automatically applies Captain (2x) to your highest scorer and Vice Captain (1.5x) to your second-highest scorer.

  • Points Perk – Doubles the scores of your lowest two players (excluding negatives).

  • Bench Boost – Doubles your bench players’ scores.

  • Perfect Game – Removes negative points for penalties, errors and missed goals.

  • WD Weapon – Doubles your Wing Defence’s score.

Use them wisely!

What to do each week

For Round 1, everyone must submit the Team Card form here.

This must be submitted at least 1 hour before the first game of Round 1.

You’ll need to submit:

  • Your starting 7 (by position)

  • The order of your 3 reserves

  • Your Captain + Vice Captain

  • Any Boosters you wish to use

Each week after that, your team will stay the same unless you resubmit the Team Card form with changes.

You can be as hands-on or hands-off as you like - set and forget, or tweak your team each week to chase maximum points or cover injuries.

The weekly cut-off is 1 hour before the first game of the round.

If I don’t receive a form from you, I’ll assume you want your team left as-is (minus any Boosters used the previous round, as they can only be used once per season).

Finally - have fun!

Get your friends involved, plan your strategies, keep an eye on form and injuries, and jump into the Facebook group to join (or start!) a discussion.

A quick note: Netaholics is a one-woman show - it’s run entirely by me, Kelly. This is only the second season of the Fantasy League and it’s still evolving, but the goal is for it to be fun, competitive and community-driven, to add more fun to the season and compete for awesome prizes!

Please note: This Fantasy League is not affiliated with Suncorp Super Netball. It is a fan-developed competition.
