How do I join?
Membership in the Netaholics Fantasy League is completely free. To enter, complete and submit the Squad Submission form (more details below under Submit your squad).
This Fantasy League is run by me (Kelly) as part of my small business Netaholics. I also create personalised netball portraits and custom coach planners. I’d really appreciate your support as running this league takes quite a bit of time each week (and this is definitely not my day job!). Check out my shop here.
Join the Netaholics Facebook group
The Netaholics Facebook group is where all the discussions and information-sharing happens. From player injury updates from the clubs, to discussions about player form and fantasy strategies, it’s all there. Weekly results and ladders will also be shared there. However, if you don’t have Facebook you can still play - all the key information, results and ladders will be shared on this website in the Fantasy blog here.
Join the Facebook group here, or search for Netaholics on Facebook.
Select your squad
Now you get to choose your squad of 10 players - 3 Shooters, 4 Midcourters, and 3 Defenders. Each player has a starting price (see them all here), and you must stay within your $1,000,000 budget.
In the price list, each player has a position/positions. They can only be placed in those positions in your starting lineup, so make sure you have a good balance (and don’t choose 3 exclusive GKs!). There are some players that appear in two different lists (e.g. WD/GD are in the Midcourt and Defender lists), so you can choose them in whichever section/position suits your team.
It doesn’t matter if they don’t actually play in the position you’ve listed them in - as long as they play you’ll get their points.
If a player you have selected is out for a long term or season ending reason, you may select another player to replace them of the same value or less.
You can only choose a maximum of 2 players from the same SSN club.
Once you’ve crunched the numbers, choose a team name!
Choose your starting 7
From your selected 10 players, you need to choose a starting 7. Your start list must include a player in each position, and you can only place them in one of their positions listed on the Player Prices list. As mentioned above, you will get their points even if they don’t play in your selected position.
You will also need to order your 3 reserves - you will receive points for your first reserve. If one of your starting 7 does not play at all, you will receive points for your second reserve. If 2 of your first 9 players do not play, you will receive points for your third reserve. So, choose their order wisely!
Select your Captain + Vice Captain
Select your Captain - their points will be doubled. Your Vice Captain’s points will have half added again (i.e. 1.5x their score). Your Captain and Vice Captain cannot be in the same part of the court (e.g. they cannot both be defenders).
Submit your squad
Submit your squad to start the competition using the Squad Submission form. You only need to do this once at the start of the season. This form must be completed and submitted by midnight FRIDAY 4TH APRIL (the day before Round 1 starts). This will allow me to put your team into the competition. Entering your team earlier is much appreciated, in case there is an issue that I need to come back to you to rectify.
The form is no longer active for the 2025 season as Round 1 has come and gone. If you’d like to enter still, please use the general contact form to let me know.
Trade periods
Through the season, you will have 3 opportunities to trade players in and out of your team, with trade periods after Round 4, Round 7 & Round 11. You can make up to 3 trades in each trade period.
Prior to each Trade Period, I will post more information about how it all works. For a general overview, check out the Rules here.
Boosters
There are 5 Boosters you can play through the season. You can only play each Booster once, and you can only use one Booster per round.
AutoPilot Captains - this Booster automatically applies the Captain double score to your highest player, and the Vice Captain 1.5x score to your second highest player.
Points Perk - this Booster doubles the scores of your lowest 2 players (that aren’t negatives).
Bench Boost - this Booster doubles your bench player’s scores.
Perfect Game - this Booster means none of your players receive negative points for penalties, errors or missed goals.
WD Weapon - this Booster doubles your Wing Defence’s score.
Use them wisely!
What to do each week
For Round 1, everybody needs to submit the following information on the Team Card form here. THIS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 1 HOUR BEFORE THE FIRST GAME OF ROUND 1.
Your starting 7 by position
The order of your 3 reserves
Your Captain + Vice Captain
Any Boosters you wish to use
Each week, your starting 7, reserves order, Captain + Vice Captain will stay the same, UNLESS you resubmit the Team Card form (linked above) with any changes you’d like to make.
It’s up to you how involved you want to be - leave your team as-is and see how they go, or make changes to try and maximise your points or account for injuries.
The cut-off for submitting this form for a round is 1 hour before the start of the first game of the round. If I don’t receive a form from you, I will assume you want me to leave your team as it is (less any Boosters that you used last round as they can only be used once per season).
Finally, have fun!
Get your friends involved, work out your strategies and keep on top of your player performance and any injuries. Jump on the Facebook group and join (or start!) a discussion.
Lastly, Netaholics is all run by me (Kelly) and this is a one-woman show, so please keep that in mind. This is the first season I have run a Fantasy League so there may be some teething problems, but hopefully it will be a lot of fun!
NOTE: This Fantasy League is not affiliated with Suncorp Super Netball. It is a fan-developed league.
