Fantasy Rules

Congratulations, you’re the newest coach in Suncorp Super Netball! You have $1,000,000 to create the team of your dreams to fight it out through the season for bragging rights and some awesome prizes! So grab a friend, and get stuck in.

Each round of the regular season (14 rounds, not including finals), players will receive a score based on points for their stats. The aim of the game is to have a team that scores the highest points possible.

Here are the rules - read them carefully!

Build your team

You need to select a total of 10 players - 3 Shooters, 4 Midcourters, and 3 Defenders. Each player has a starting price (see them all here), and you must stay within your $1,000,000 budget.

In the price list, each player has a position/positions. They can only be placed in those positions in your starting lineup, so make sure you have a good balance (and don’t choose 3 exclusive GKs!). There are some players that appear in two different lists (e.g. WD/GD are in the Midcourt and Defender lists), so you can choose them in whichever section/position suits your team.

It doesn’t matter if they don’t actually play in the position you’ve listed them in - as long as they play you’ll get their points.

If a player you have selected is out for a long term or season ending reason, you may select another player to replace them of the same value or less.

You can only choose a maximum of 2 players from the same SSN club.

Once you’ve crunched the numbers, choose a team name!

Starting lineup + Captain/Vice Captain

From your selected 10 players, you need to choose a starting 7. Your start list must include a player in each position, and you can only place them in one of their positions listed on the Player Prices list. As mentioned above, you will get their points even if they don’t play in your selected position.

You will also need to order your 3 reserves - you will receive points for your first reserve. If one of your starting 7 does not play at all, you will receive points for your second reserve. If 2 of your first 9 players do not play, you will receive points for your third reserve. So, choose their order wisely!

Select your Captain - their points will be doubled. Your Vice Captain’s points will have half added again (i.e. 1.5x their score). Your Captain and Vice Captain cannot be in the same part of the court (e.g. they cannot both be defenders).

You can change your starting lineup, reserve order, captain and vice captain for each round if you wish!

Trade periods + changing prices

Through the season, you will have 3 opportunities to trade players in and out of your team, with trade periods after Round 4, Round 7 & Round 11. You can make up to 3 trades in each trade period.

Prior to trade periods, the player prices will be updated based on previous price and recent form. When making a trade, you can only spend the new value of your player, plus whatever you have left from your original salary cap.

For example, say you only spend $990,000 initially, so you have $10,000 left from your original salary cap. You want to trade one of your players, whose most recent price is $50,000. You can spend up to $60,000 on your new player, with the value of the player you’re trading, plus what you had left of your cap.

It’s worth noting, that as the player prices change through the season, so will the total value of your team. So your team may have initially been valued at $1M, but if you’ve selected well, halfway through the season it may be valued at $1.2M. This is a good measure of how strong your team is (along with your team points scores of course!)

Scoring

Each round, players score points based on the official match stats. Your starting 7, plus your first reserve score points. Your Captain’s score is doubled, and your Vice Captain’s score is multiplied by 1.5.

If one of your starting 7 (or your first reserve) does not play, you will receive the points of your second reserve, and so on.

Boosters

There are 5 Boosters you can play through the season. You can only play each Booster once, and you can only use one Booster per round.

AutoPilot Captains - this Booster automatically applies the Captain double score to your highest player, and the Vice Captain 1.5x score to your second highest player.

Points Perk - this Booster doubles the scores of your lowest 2 players (that aren’t negatives).

Bench Boost - this Booster doubles your bench player’s scores.

Perfect Game - this Booster means none of your players receive negative points for penalties, errors or missed goals.

WD Weapon - this Booster doubles your Wing Defence’s score.

Use them wisely!
