Here we are with Round 3’s player scores!
Our top 5 has a completely different flavour this week, with no Thunderbirds and 4 new players to the top 5s this year (ATN made it in Round 1). Ash Ervin had a massive 320.5 points this week - a huge haul and the biggest this season by over 70 points! Ash is followed by 2 Fever players - Fran Williams and Alice Teague-Neeld. Kim Brown and Ruby Bakewell-Doran round out the top 5 for this week.
Some interesting player score stats for Round 3:
Fran Williams had 7 deflections, 4 rebounds and 10 centre pass receives for 160 of her points
The Giants gave up 20 general play turnovers, with JLP guilty of 9 of them, along with throwing 3 intercepts, losing herself 28 points
With 60 goals, 3 rebounds, 2 pickups and even an intercept, plus the player of the match, Shimona Jok had a ripper game for 202 points, just missing out on the top 5 for the round.
The Firebirds shooters struggled with accuracy against the Lightning, with a team average of 68.2%. Cholhok, Moore and Dwan lost 84 points in total from missed goals
Ash Ervin was unbelievable this round: 80 points for intercepts, 100 points for deflections, 50 points for rebounds, plus 30 points for player of the match. She jumped up 30 places in the overall player points leaderboard, from 33rd to 3rd
Despite 5 deflections and an intercept, Sarah Klau gave up an equal round-high 16 contacts (along with Isabelle Shearer), and threw 2 intercepts which hampered her score
The Thunderbirds had a lacklustre scoring game, with Tayla Williams the top scorer on 168, placing her 10th overall this round
Although she lost 57 points through errors and missed goals, Kiera Austin top-scored for the Vixens on 155 points, placing her 14th this round
I’ve developed a Google Sheets document that lists each player and their scores by round. This will be updated after each round.
The first tab is the Overall Leaderboard, and will be sorted by total points. The second tab will be sorted by the most recent round (i.e. whoever scored the most points in the most recent round will be at the top).
