Player Scores: R14

For the last time in 2025, here we are with Round 14’s player scores!

For the 8th time this season (!!), Alice Teague-Neeld is in our top 5, with her first top score! Incredibly consistent throughout the year, she hits the top this week with 37 feeds, 32 goal assists, 25 CPRs, 3 deflections and a pickup.

Hitting her straps through the back half of the season, Kiera Austin is in 2nd place this week, in the top 5 for the 5th time this year. She had 22 goals at 81.5%, 12 goal assists, 4 gains, 3 deflections and an intercept.

Jamie-Lee Price did everything she could to get her Giants over the line this week, only 4 points behind Kiera. Her round-high 45 feeds, 26 goal assists and 2 deflections earned her the player of the match.

Similarly, Lara Dunkley had her best game of the season, willing her Firebirds to try and topple the Swifts. She had 44 feeds, 21 goal assists, 25 CPRs, a deflection and a gain to her name.

Finally, the lone defender in the top 5 this week, Matilda Garrett stood up with her defensive partner in crime Latanya to lead her Thunderbirds to victory over the Lightning in their do-or-die clash. She had 7 deflections, 6 gains, 4 intercepts, a pickup and a rebound in her player of the match performance.

Some interesting player score stats for Round 14:

  • Sunday Aryang had another killer game this week, with 6 gains, 4 intercepts, 3 deflections, 2 rebounds and 2 pickups in her player of the match performance - good timing with the Diamonds selections announcement imminent!

  • Elsa Sif Sandholt and Danielle Taylor both had their debuts for the Firebirds in a pressure-cooker overtime game against the Swifts. Elsa has beautiful height and presence, while Dani is an excellent tagger. Both of them will no doubt benefit from the immense experience that even a few minutes on an SSN court brings, and I hope we see more of them next season.

  • In her last ever professional netball game, Jo Harten nailed 7 Super Shots, including one on the buzzer in her team’s win over the Mavs. She had 33 goals at 85%, 8 goal assists, a rebound and a deflection for her 149 points.

  • Steph Fretwell has struggled this season, only sometimes showing the brilliance we know she has. With another average score of 73 points in her team’s loss to the Thunderbirds (and therefore their last game of the season), have we perhaps seen the last of Steph in SSN? Given she retired from international duties this year, could she pull the pin to move on to bigger and better things in life? Time will tell.

  • Molly Jovic finished the year with a bang, with her 195 points. That gives her an average score of 206 points for the last 6 rounds of the season. Is she a bolter for the Diamonds? Perhaps a training partner? For context, Liz Watson’s last 6 games’ average was 203 points.

  • Despite having some grievances with the umpiring, Verity Simmons led her team with experience on Sunday, scoring 203 points with 40 feeds, 28 goal assists, a deflection and a pickup.

  • The Thunderbirds defensive trio of Petty, Wilson and Garrett scored 576 points this week - with 11 gains, 6 intercepts and 16 deflections they wreaked havoc on the Lightning’s attack end. Let’s see if they can continue that form into finals.

  • After 4 rounds of not turning to her bench, Simone McKinnis finally decided to give someone outside her starting 7 a run this week, with both Maggie Caris and Lily Graham getting minutes. Will that experience prove valuable for finals?

I’ve developed a Google Sheets document that lists each player and their scores by round. This will be updated after each round.

The first tab is the Overall Leaderboard, and will be sorted by total points. The second tab will be sorted by the most recent round (i.e. whoever scored the most points in the most recent round will be at the top).
